| DO NOT PUNISH HER! I know it can be frustrating but you hav to let the accidents go for the first few weeks to a month (sometimes more deoending on the situation). My daughter was potty trained by her second birthday this is what I did: I made a "chart" (a piece of paper with her name on top 1 half said PEE on top the other half said POOP) then I bought a **** load of stickers. I got her little potty seat and put it in the room we spend 90% of our time in and then also got a potty seat to go over the toilet and a still (so she wouldnt fall in). I took her pants off and just let her sit/watch tv/read on her potty. If I noticed pee in the potty she got to put 1 sticker in the pee section of the chart and we dumped the potty. She basically didnt wear pants for like 5 days and we didnt really leave the house either. I asked her prob every 30 mins to sit on the potty and made her sit for a few mins each time. The second day no pants no leaving the house. I asked her TONS if she had to use the potty used the stickers again ect. By day 3 she was letting me know almost every time she went. And sometimes she went without telling me! Peeing and Pooping! She kept getting stickers filling her chart. (the whole time she was sleepingin pull ups. Once you start potty training diapers have to go use pull ups for over night she will need them overnight for a while still). After 5 days she was letting me know every time she had to pee/poop and had very few accidents. A few tips: keep a potty in the living.play room where ever you are most during the day. Put her in pants that dont have snaps/buttons just elastic waists so she can pull them down quickly on her own (this takes practice too) DONT be discouraging it is a LEARNED skill we are NOT born knowing that we are supposed to use the potty Make sure you ask her about 20-30 mins after each meal/snack/time she drinks Take extra undies/pants with you all the time If going on a long car ride (more then 30 mins) bring the potty with you Be loving and proud of her for learning/being big! |

| Potty trained and now peeing in her panties.? I have a 4 and half year old daughter that has been potty trained for the last 2 years. About a month ago she started having accidents (peeing only) in her panties. Mostly it happens in the evenings, but her teacher at daycare said she has had some accidents during the day as well. She has done so good for so long, what possibly is going wrong that she is having accidents. Could there be a medical problem ?????? Please help me with detailed info, when she does this I do get on her and send her to her room, but feel bad. The only changes in her life lately is we moved into a new home and she got a new teacher at daycare...... How do I handle this ??????? |
| My daughter totally went through this. It seemed like the day after I bragged that she had been trained since 18 months! She is now 5 years old and at 4.5 years she had entered pre-school full time (first day care setting ever). I seriously think that they are just so busy at school that they are forgetting to go potty. She came home one day with her tennis shoes soaked w/ pee. She never told the teacher and they didn't know (great....: (. I just read another part of your post....we had also recently moved. So, I'd say she's normal given all the transitions. Just remind her that she's a big girl and that you expect her to stay dry. Maybe you could re-visit the reward system. If she stays dry all day, she gets a treat (sticker, ice cream, trip to the park, etc). Then after a week or so of treats, start to say, If you stay dry for 2 days you'll get (a bigger treat). Keep upping the bar until she gets it. I think as long as she gets it before Kindergarten you'll be fine. Just so you know, my daughter went from having accidents...to going potty too frequently (in fear of accidents) Within minutes of going, she'd tear up and say she had to go again. Her teachers suggested a urinary tract infection...but it was just the fear of the accident making her go. Hope that helped! |

| She's only two so don't worry to much about it. I work at a daycare and most of them aren't potty trained either. Take her to the potty with you, so her how mommy goes potty and. If your daddy I'm sorry I didn't look at the name, but if daddy encourage her by asking her if she has to go potty and show her and explain. Say this is the potty where we go peepee and poo poo when you have to go you go in there say it everytime andthat goes for mommy as well. You have to introduce them to the potty. Also if you are putting them on the big potty, try giving them their own and put it in a spot where they can see it and go to it when they have to go and gradually move it closer to the bathroom when you feel she is getting the hang of it start introducing her to the big potty but don't put her on it. |

| my 2 yr old was hell too. she would have accidents during the day.mostly because she would wait til the last minute, and couldnt make it. then sometimes she would be so caught up in playing i think she would forget or maybe didnt feel the tickle? but have u or do u use pull-ups.? my daughter wouldnt pee in the pot if she had them on. but when i would take them off she would pee in the toliet, she would still have the ocasinal accident. she was kind of backwords though. first she stayed drie all night, but pee in her pants duing the day, but finally, she got better. some of my tips are, DONT GET MAD!!!! she can sense that and when its time for her to potty again, shell remember that anger and get a little freaked out. 2nd, praise her and get excited whenever she does good. like we did "yay! jayjay went pepe in the potty...yay big girl." stuff like that, and just be patient. shell eventually get it down packed. good luck, and i hope i helped a little in some way. |

| She is confused. No I don't think it's possible to train her in that small amount of time. Both homes need to be "on the same page" in order for anything to work. And punishing her for wetting will only make her feel ashamed of herself and her body. You could try getting some books for her to read while on the potty and if you decide to still go ahead and train her.....REWARD her like crazy when she goes potty, but at least until both homes are "on the same page", don't even mention it if she has an accident. Change her and let it go. Just my 2-cents. |

| Potty training: How do I get my daughter to stop peeing in her panties? If she's naked she'll run to her potty to go pee, even throw a tantrum while she's holding it in if the potty isn't where she wants it. A few times she's taken off her diaper to go pee on the potty though usually she pees in the diaper first and then tries to sit on the potty. I've tried putting panties on her as a reward for when she has just gone and then sometimes litteraly 10 minutes later she'll wet herself. I've told her time and time again not to pee in her panties, a handfull of times she's taken them off so she can go pee on the potty but more often then not she just has an accident. Is there anything I can do or do I just have to keep reminding her until it finally sticks? How long did it take you to fully train your guy for day time potty? LOL I'll post another question when it comes to night time training, which right now seems far, far away. |
| I potty trained my son just few weeks ago. He would go when he was naked, but once I put his underwear on, he probably though it was a diaper and peed in it. So I started dressing him in sweat pants, no underwear, so he could feel the urine on his legs when he peed. I also stopped using diapers for the day and only put it on for nap or night. I think it is confusing for them to sometimes have it and other times not. He peed in his pants few times, didn't like the urine running on his legs, so he started undressing himself when he needed to go. I took about a week. I had to wash lot of laundry at that week, but it was worth it. we still take extra pair of pants and briefs when we go out, but never need them as he learned to pee on the grass outside. |
